Kristin Thornby, Vice President of People Strategy
With show-stopping performance in 2018, ObserveIT continues to wow the insider threat industry. Kristin Thornby, Vice President of People Strategy, fuels the Global People Operations Team, working to ensure employees at ObserveIT are equipped to continue making strides and breaking records. With a growing and global workforce, Kristin was tasked with merging ObserveIT’s respective office cultures into one cohesive unit – not an easy feat. Luckily her agile team, including member Brianna Bullock, was motivated to make it happen.
From Boston to Tel Aviv
At the time, their workforce stretched from Boston to Tel Aviv. Brianna would often meet employees making a visit from Tel Aviv, and knew there could be a better way to make these visits warmer and more familiar.
With that in mind, Kristin knew there was a need to connect the growing team here in Boston. How would new employees be welcomed into the company culture?
How to Measure Employee Data
In addition to merging ObserveIT’s office cultures, it was necessary for Kristin’s team to routinely measure data and make strategic decisions related to their global workforce. A particularly important piece of data was turnover. But how could they track it? Kristin and her team searched for something new to merge their office cultures and provide data for informed people decisions.
“Once we saw a demo of HelloTeam, we were hooked”
“Once we saw a demo of HelloTeam, we were hooked,” said Brianna. Before HelloTeam, “we never had a process for pulling employee data. It was not an easy task. When tracking turnover, we had to go back in our heads and see who we could remember that left.”
Hiring, Headcount, Turnover, and Retention
With a streamlined system to organize employee data around hiring, headcount, turnover, and retention, ObserveIT has removed what Brianna describes as “panic” from the HR reporting process. Their team has merged and built upon office cultures, introducing employees with different backgrounds and from different parts of the world through HelloTeam’s focus on communication and collaboration.
